A Study of the Gravindex Slide Test for Pregnancy

Abstract
|
|
|
|
1) Gravindex slide test for pregnancy were used to identify the H.C.G. in the urine. 2) Preliminary tests were performed to decide the sensitivity of the Gravindex. a) using Primogonyl (H.C.G.): Mainini tests were positive at 62.5 I. U. and the Gravindex test showed positive at 7.8 I. U. b) using Puberogen (H.C.G.): Mainini tests were positive at 50 I. U. and Gravindex test showed positive at 12.5 I. U. As mentioned above, Gravindex test showed more sensitive than frog test. 3) 15 pregnant women showed all positive, and 1 false positive appeared from the 15 nonpregnant women. 4) In 2 cases of hydatidiform mole, and in 2 cases of chorionepithelioma, all showed positive reactions. Over-all reliability of the Gravindex test was 97.05%. 5) Three cases of male urine showed all negative reactions. 6) The urine contained high protein obtained from 10 years postmenopausal woman showed false positive.
